How It All Began:

A Really Big Dream

In 2023 two published short horror story authors, Alanna being a LARPer of 11 years and Johnny with a burning passion to try LARP, put their minds together to create Cryptid Chronicles: Legacy of the Ancients.

Their initial conversation went something like this:

"I like monsters!"

"Yeah, me too!"

"I also like dressing in fun costumes and hitting people with foam-covered weapons."

"Weird, but that sounds fun, so let's go for it on a incredibly chaotic grand scale!"

"Yay!!!!"

Three years later here we are, celebrating our success with our players, staff, some delicious food and a bunch of scary monsters running around causing chaos. Life is meant to be enjoyed, so come and join us for a wild weekend in the woods!

Mission Statement

The goal of Cryptid Chronicles: Legacy of the Ancients LARP is to provide a social space that promotes creativity, entertainment, and the development of role-playing skills. We offer this form of entertainment to those living in Pennsylvania, and even beyond, so that they may have the opportunity to participate in group performance activities that nurture a theatrical, game-oriented cultural pulse for its attendees. Cryptid Chronicles aims to foster the teaching and guidance of the aforementioned through the construction of a pretend world, one complete with costumes, an overarching plotline and props that our staff will utilize to deliver a fun, engaging experience to our players. This organization strives to inspire participants to express themselves in a safe environment through a shared, imaginative atmosphere, and we will do our utmost best to deliver on this.
